My Taco Night Experience

Making ground beef tacos became a staple in my home the first time I attempted it. Taco night is eventful, the smell of spices, the sizzle of the beef and piling on of toppings makes it happy every single time.

Ingredients

For the Taco Filling:

Ground beef: 1 lb (80/20 for best flavor)

Onion: 1 small, finely diced

Garlic: 2 cloves, minced

Taco seasoning: 2 tbsp store bought or 2 tbsp homemade

Tomato paste: 1 tbsp

Water or beef broth: ⅓ cup

Salt and pepper: To taste

For the Tacos:

Taco shells: Hard shells or small soft tortillas (8–10)

Lettuce: Shredded

Tomatoes: Diced

Cheddar cheese: Shredded

Sour cream: For topping

Salsa or hot sauce: Optional

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Ground Beef

Put a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the ground beef and add until crumbled. Drain excess fat if needed.

Once the diced onion is chopped, add it and cook 2–3 minutes until softened. Then cook for 1 minute, stirring in the garlic.

Step 2: Season the Beef

Instead, shake all the taco seasoning into the slow cooker, and pour either red or brown liquid beef stock. Beef pieces have to be mixed properly to make sure that the spices cover all of the beef pieces.

Heat over medium and place cover on top until it starts to boil. Heat your oven to medium (but not up to hot) and give yourself 5-7 minutes to check and add more salt and pepper, as needed.

Step 3: Prepare the Taco Shells

We want O ven temp to be around about 350 degrees F, because you want to have the hard shells whenever there’s use for them.

To use soft tortillas, gently microwave or placed on dry skillet till they get soft.

Step 4: Assemble the Tacos

What’s more, you can now start filling each of the taco shells with the mixture, which will then be topped with things like sour cream and salsa.

Now to build the taco set frozen partially baked tortilla chips on the bottom or beef mixture, shredded tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese, let’s get cooking!

Step 5: Serve

Eat to taco night!
