uncooked elbow macaroni 16 oz
2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Grated Parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup
4 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
Unsalted butter, melted, 1/2 cup
Option 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder (Optional)
A little bit of tang (optional)– 1 teaspoon mustard powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Slow Cooker:
Butter or cooking spray the inside of your slow cooker to prevent sticking.
Combine Ingredients:
Place in the slow cooker the uncooked macaroni, melted butter, milk, heavy cream, and shredded cheeses, garlic powder, mustard powder, and salt and pepper. Stir well to combine.
Set the Cooker:
Place the slow cooker’s lid and cook on low heat.
Cook:
Pop to the oven for 2 to 3 hours, squishing occasionally to be sure all is actually cooking evenly and not sticking to the pan.
2 hours check the macaroni. The cheese sauce should be creamy, and it should be tender.
Serve:
For this, either cook the macs and cheese first and put the slow cooker to ‘warm’ once cooked or cook in the slow cooker and switch it to ‘warm’ when done. If desired, garnish with extra cheese, breadcrumbs, or parsley.

Use Freshly Shredded Cheese: Sometimes pre-shredded cheese has anti caking agents that will change the creaminess of the sauce.
