italian panna cotta recipe My Personal Experience
The first time I touched pudding was at an Italian restaurant and I completely fell in love with the great texture of it. I never really thought it was that easy and fast to make in the confines of my kitchen. For this reason I always seem to use it in front of people when they come over.
How To Prepare
To Prepare Panna Cotta
Heavy cream: 2 cups
Whole milk: ½ cup
Granulated sugar: ⅓ cup
Vanilla bean: 1 or 2 tsp vanilla extract
Unflavored gelatin: 1 packet (about 2 ½ tsp)
Water: 3 tbsp (inward gleam water gelatin)
Toppings
Fruit coulis: Strawberry, raspberry or mango
Berries or any kind of sliced stone fruits
Some drizzles of caramel with choco shavings.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Gelatin
Sprinkle the gelatin over 3 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. This should be left for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom.
Step 2: Heat the Cream Mixture
In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, and sugar.
Vanilla bean method: The vanilla beans should be cut lengthways, then the seeds scraped out and … both the seeds and the pod should be added to the saucepan. (If you are using the vanilla extract, introduce it afterward.)
Cook about medium heat tastefully, and occasionally stir until the cream is just under the boiling point and the sugar is dissolved. Don’t let it boil.
Step 3: Add the Gelatin
Take away the saucepan from heat. Let the vanilla pod sit only if you have used it.
Incorporate the gelatin that has bloomed, into the hot cream mixture and stir until completely dissolved. If on the other hand you are using vanilla extract, put it in now.
Step 4: Pour and Chill
Next, divide the mixture into 4-6 ramekins or dessert glasses.
Once the panna cotta will reach room temperature, cover it with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Step 5: Serve and Garnish
Unmolding can be done by running a knife around the edge of the ramekin and inverting it onto a plate. (Serving directly in the ramekin or glass is an easier option too.)
Deck it with a fruit coulis, fresh fruit, or the garnish of your choice.

Tips for Perfect Panna Cotta
Control Sweetness: Alter the sugar to your preference, especially if a sweet topping is being added.
Gelatin Blooming: To ensure a pudding lacking lumps, you need to properly blossom the gelatin.
Smooth Texture: If you want a smoother product, strain the mixture of the ingredients through a fine-mesh sieve before pouring it.
Make Ahead: Panna cotta is well with refrigerator storage for up to 3 days making it a perfect dish for pre-prepared events.
